Brian F. Mumford, Pllc is Of Counsel to Cahill Gambino. Mr. Mumford’s primary practice focus is on mediation and arbitration in securities industry related actions. Mr. Mumford has represented members of the securities industry throughout the United States in disputes involving broker-dealers, employment matters, and customer complaints. He has been engaged in both civil and criminal securities fraud cases, has conducted internal investigations for broker-dealers and other public companies, and has represented clients regarding corporate malfeasance. Mr. Mumford has also represented broker-dealers in regulatory matters before the SEC, NYSE, and FINRA.
Mr. Mumford has served as a panel member at the New York State Bar Association program on Securities Arbitration and Mediation and has lectured on alternative dispute resolution in the federal courts. He has been published in the Practicing Law Institute’s annual edition of Securities Arbitration and also The Association of the Bar of the City of New York’s program Securities Arbitration Hot Topics, as well as being quoted in Securities Arbitration Procedure Manual (2008 Matthew Bender, a division of Lexis Publishing). He has also lectured regarding risk management and securities arbitration at broker/manager conferences for various securities industry firms.
Mr. Mumford is a member of the New York State Bar Association and past member of the House of Delegates. He is a member and past president of the Albany County Bar Association and a member of the Association of the Bar of The City of New York. Prior to joining Cahill Gambino, he was a partner and practiced in he field of securities mediation and arbitration at Harvey and Mumford LLP, he also served as Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York and as New York State Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Bureau of Claims and Litigation. Mr. Mumford graduated from Albany Law School of Union University, where he was Associate Editor of the Albany Law Review. Mr. Mumford is admitted to practice law in Florida and New York. He holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell.
